Freek Jan Koekoek
Mr. Freek Jan Koekoek (MSc) started the company in 2000, after extensive experience in international trade, business consultancy and agricultural project management. His last job was at Fair Trade Assistance, a Dutch consultancy service related to the international fair-trade movement.

Freek Jan graduated as an agricultural engineer from Wageningen University in 1990, specializing in tropical land and water management. During his professional career, he followed complementary courses in marketing and business management. He is currently involved in the marketing of peanuts, fruit juice, honey, fishery products, chicken meat, and finished products from Africa , while he is also responsible for the management of the company.

Marjo van Loon
Ms. Marjo van Loon (MSc MBA) graduated from Wageningen University in 1998 as a tropical agricultural engineer. After four years of work experience in Geographical Information Systems, she returned to college to obtain a degree in Business Administration in 2005. Marjo joined Mercadero in February 2005. Her main involvement has been with market surveys in the sectors of fishery products, honey and fruit and vegetables, while she has also supported exporters in developing business in the EU.
