On Sunday 10 May the Challapata market price for white quinoa again went down further, and reached the record low price of 600 Bolivianos per quintal (US$1.90 per kg).
Red quinoa also closed at a very low price; 1000 Bolivianos per quintal, equivalent to US$3.17 per kg. The prices for white and red quinoa have never been this low, causing producers to hold on to their quinoa.
The price for black quinoa remains stable at 900 Bolivianos per quintal (US$2.85).
